However, one has to be careful while planning a trip to Australia. You might need to pack quite a few items which might come in handy during the trip. Here’s a list of a few must-carry items for travellers planning a sojourn in the splendid land of Australia:

Travel Guide
Spanning 3000 kms from Perth on the West Coast to Sydney on the East Coast, Australia is a big nation. With such a huge land area, a travel guide with a map of the country will surely give you a good idea of the geographic layout.

Necessities
Anti-mosquito lotion or repellent will be predominantly required in Northern Queensland. Otherwise, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania have always been considered as mosquito free.

Sunscreen and Sunshade – Sunlight is much brighter in Australia as compared to Europe and North America. So bring along your sunglasses and a wide rim hat. While, for fair skinned people, the sunscreen lotion will offer the ultimate protection from the scorching heat of the Australian sun.

Dressing Up
The choice of clothing largely depends on the activities you are planning during your holiday. If Sydney or Melbourne is your destination, formal attire will be the right choice as these cities have a number of theatres and at times act as the staging ground for cultural events.

Casual Code
Pack those casual outfits which are right for warmer as well as cooler environments. For the beach as well as rugged areas, swimsuits, jeans, short-sleeved shirts, few sweaters and a pair of comfortable shoes should form an essential part of your wardrobe.

Medicines
Carry your medicines and medical records along with you. In case of an accident or medical emergency, a healthcare professional will be able to provide you the right kind of medical aid.

Australia is a very friendly country, especially for tourists. You should have no problems in finding the right places, even if you have no idea about the destination. 1. The country is definitely a memorable place to go to. If you have a partner, there are a lot of romantic places to visit, if you are with the family, theme parks and educational trips are open and if you are alone or with friends coming for an adventure, the outback is ready to give you the best experience. I have to say though that I love most about the country are the beaches, specially during surf contests. Waves just gets so high and those experienced pro surfers ride them like cowboys on a board. Awesome.
